The Plum Loft is our darker, warmer loft — same layout as the Lavender but with deeper wood tones, a plum velvet accent chair by the window, and a slightly wider mezzanine footprint. For a traveller who wants their room to feel like it was designed for them personally.

Notes
A boutique note: our rooms are compact by design, in the Manhattan tradition — every square foot considered rather than sprawled across. Elevators are original, restored last year. Wi-Fi runs on a private fiber line. Housekeeping runs daily; a Do Not Disturb toggle in the guest app pauses it. Quiet hours run 10pm-8am on room floors. No smoking anywhere on property. No pets.
Interaction
Our team is downstairs whenever you need them — as visible or invisible as you want us to be. Concierges can book restaurants, arrange car service, or point you to the walking route we recommend for your first morning. Anything you’d ask at any hotel, ask us. Anything you wouldn’t, ask us anyway.
Interaction
Purple Door sits on the Bowery in Lower Manhattan — a street that reads like a walking course in two centuries of New York. Two blocks from Nolita’s cast-iron corners and Chinatown’s noodle counters, four from the East Village’s live rooms, and one subway stop from SoHo, the Lower East Side, and the East River waterfront. This is the New York people are trying to describe when they say ‘the real one.’
Access
Check-in is 3pm, check-out is 11am. Earlier arrivals and later departures are welcome to store luggage with the front desk. Your room key is digital — we send it to your phone the morning of arrival, and it’s tied to the elevator and your room door. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day.
Space
620 sq ft split across two levels. Downstairs: living area with grey sofa, plum velvet accent chair, writing desk with skyline view, full kitchenette, and full bath with rain shower and soaking tub. Upstairs mezzanine: king bed, reading nook, and open shelving styled with rolled towels and a small plant.
Transit
The Bowery station (J/Z) is thirty seconds from our door. Grand St (B/D) and Canal St (N/Q/R/W/6) are both a five-minute walk. From here it’s fifteen minutes to Midtown, ten to Brooklyn, and thirty to LaGuardia via the M60. Manhattan doesn’t get more connected than this.

Reviews
Darker, moodier, better
Tobias Reinhardt
Stayed in the Lavender Loft last year and wanted to compare. The Plum is the same layout but warmer in tone — deeper wood, plum velvet chair, feels a bit more residential. Preferred it.
Rare to find in NYC

Two-level rooms in Manhattan usually mean walkup studio. The Plum Loft is the opposite — proper elevator building, actual amenities, real hospitality. Rare combination.

Made for a long weekend
Amara Johnson
Long weekend for our anniversary. Space to spread out, upstairs bed with a proper reading corner, and a bathroom worth mentioning. Small details throughout that show someone actually thought about it.
The room I keep coming back to
Simon Rosenthal
Third stay in the Plum Loft. Same room every time. The staff know my order at check-in now. That is the kind of hotel this is.
